Edin Dervishalidovic was born in 1962 in Sarajevo, where he was raised and educated. He founded the band 'Merlin' in 1983 and has been its singer and songwriter ever since.
With 'Merlin' he has recorded five studio albums and sold over one million copies. He began his solo career under the name 'Dino Merlin' in 1991, and went on to record three studio albums: 'Moja Bogda Sna' (My Piece of a Dream) 1993, 'Fotografija' (Photography) 1995, 'Sredinom' (Middle Path) 2000 and a live album, 'Vjecna Vatra' (Eternal Flame) 1999.
Dino Merlin wrote the first anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 'Jedna si Jedina' (One and Only One). He has taken part in Eurovision Song Contests - Dublin 1993, Jerusalem 1999 - and other big European festivals such as Copenhagen 1996 and Turkovision 1997. His 'Sredinom' tour included over 200 concerts, with a spectacular performance in the Olympic Stadium in Sarajevo in front of 80,000 spectators. The 'Sredinom' album was the top-selling album in Bosnia and all of the states of the former Yugoslavia in the past ten years.
